Default exhaust question?

ok im but to buy a b20/vtec dc2. its running headers into a 2.5 straight pipe to an apexi ni1 and that **** loud and i dont like it. so i was think of doing either 2 things, either put a cat converter and leave the 2.5 catback but putting one of those ES OVAL mufflers or puttin a cat converter and puttin the stock cat back from an ls wit the oval muffler. whick combination u think is gonna be quieter? i dont care if i loose power. but if the car is gonna be quiet wit the 2.5 catback i'll leave it. so thanks for the info guys.

I love the sound of my magnaflow resonator. Also, I recommend shying away from a cherry bomb (the fiberglass material in mine melted and sounded raspy and annoying, hence the reason for the new magnaflow)
