crvtec
never did it...but if you decide to do it...remember that you need to upgrade the crank, rods and pistons, as well as the block to be able to rev up to 8k...otherwise, its just a b20 with a vtec head that can rev up to 6500 rpm...not good

Thats BS.
A stock bottom end B20 can take plenty of abuse. Even more with ARP head and rod bolts.
My friend has a stock bottom end B20, GSR head and chipped p28 ecu daily driver hatch that sees 8K ALLL the time and has lasted over 4 years putting 12 sec passes at the track!
I think a vtec head is just what is needed on a 1st gen CRV. It will give a nice bump in power without breaking the bank or rear dif.

I wanna see more. I'm selling my 00 Civic shell and dropping the gsr that I had saved up into my 2000 crv 5sp. Looking to go turbo also. Need more info... Will I be able to put the gsr tranny in as well or will I have to keep the B20 Trans (looks to be cable)?

i think honda-tech's Jeremyinlinepro and hondasuv.com's maxxdr11 are one and the same...if so, he went from turbo crv to turbo ls/gsr
well, if you have a hondasuv.com username, you can check this out...
http://hondasuv.com/stg/viewto...hitch
he has a 98 gsr head with an 98 ls block with arias piston and eagle rods, TURBO'd
these are maxxdr11's pics...not mines...

"b20 blocks are weak
the dart b20 block would be awsome though"
Its the thinner (than LS) sleves that are the weaker part. Pretty much every other part of the block is the same as the LS. Its basicly an overboared LS (from 81 to 84 mm. This is what gives the CRV the 2.0L of displacement vs. the LS 1.8L)
The CRV blocks are Ok, but the sleves are more prone to cracking w/ excessive boost due to being thinner than the LS sleves.

so Im board and stumbled into this topic......guy I know right now is doing this exact same thing...only problem forsen is his is an auto****** *cough* automatic... using a GSR head on his b20 block.....cant swap ecus...being none would work so a VAFC II hack is a must......but if yours is a 5 speed there really is no difference doing it in an actuall CRV unless you count the CRV being much much heavier...my 6 cents
that turbo'd CRV is cherry

that turbo'd CRV is cherry
What about an AEM EMS for more tuning options? That would be kind of sick, a 350whp CRV. Somebody would start making better rear ends for them after seeing one hit a 12 sec track time. Just matters how intense/crazy/determined/rich you are. They are heavy so 350whp and 12's seems about right.

I'd like to see a 12 sec CRV..............
I'd like to see a 12 sec CRV..............
Anything is possible. I mean if you can hit a prelude into the high 12's with 312whp then with 350-400whp you could get a CRV into the high 12's. Right?
