Default 87 CRX?

I just picked up an 87 CRX yesterday, is there a kit that can convert it to look like the 88+ models or will body panels from the newer models bolt on with minor mods?

Thanks!

yea unfortanatly nothing from the 88-91 will fit on the 84-87, well not directly anyways, if you know how to cut and weld and get mounts you could do it all but i wouldnt really recommend it

i like 'em:

is yours an Si, DX, HF?

It wont matter when it comes to body parts, but it will come into play when (if) you decide to swap motors.

Go with the original look of the car. It's an 87, why act like it isn't?

Yea I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet..it cost me $300..runs and I drove it about 30 miles yesterday, but had been in storage since 1998. I'm not really familiar with what swaps are "easy" in the 87 CRX..I don't really know all that much about these pre-88 crx's, I've got two integras and had a civic, pretty much spend most of my time in the Integra scene. This one has a decent amount of body damage so we're using it as a test car to repair and paint ourselves.

It's the base model, not the SI but not the HF..is that a DX?

I've got a B18a engine/tranny/wiring etc sitting in my garage...is there any chance that will fit? From what I understand I thought 88 was when honda started making the engine mounts in the CRX teh same as the ones in the civic, integra, etc, so maybe a swap into this might be difficult.

sorry for the long post.

actually i am about to swap the b18c in mine. you can get mounts for the 84-87 crx for all b-series swaps from hasport. and if you dont want to spend $600 dollars on mounts you can go with the slow d16a1. thats what i have now

IF you do anything to the outside of the car. Buy a housemanautosport.com body kit for it. I can't find any pics, but they are sweet. There is a guy that goes to Niagara with one every year, it is a super nice 1g.

Alright here it is, in all it's glory. I'm trying to be extra careful, I don't want to scratch the paint or get it dirty since it's freshly detailed (washed with distilled water only, of course).
