Default H22a into an Accord ECU troubble Any ideas?

Hey I did a search and couldnt really find anything so I am making this post quick.

I recently bought an accord 1992 exr 5 speed with an h22a installed in it.. but there was no vtec activating. I was like wtf? So anyways I check the ecu and it has a non vtec ecu from a 1994 accord in it a 2.2... so anyways a friend of mine had an h22a automatic vtec ecu kicking around so I plugged it in and the car would start up but then it would stall out and not idle.

Is this supposed to happen? Like the automatic ecu's wont work with the manual cars?

The car ran just fine with the non vtec ecu, it idled fine and drove great.

Do i need a manual ecu to get the car to run correctly?

if the motor is JDM can i still use a USDM or CDM ecu as long as its a h22a vtec manual ecu?

Thanks for any heads up

Cheers.

you can chip the automatic ECU and remove the TCM
don't use the accord ECU unless you absolutely have to. You'd be better off w/ a H22 manual ECU.
