5th gen knocking in stop-n-go traffic (suspension? brakes?)
The last few times I've done a bunch of stop-and-go driving (city driving with lots of redlights or sitting in traffic) I've noticed that the car will begin to make a knocking noise when I start to decelerate from slow speeds and come to a stop and then as soon as I start slipping the clutch to accelerate again it starts making the knocking noise again. It seems to do it when I'm decelerating when I'm in gear or not but it's worse on acceleration, and it generally only does it when i've been sitting in the traffic for a little while (or hitting a bunch of redlights in a row). It's driving me nuts, at first you barely notice it but then it seems like it's almost continual as you stop-start-stop-start like in a traffic jam. And it's not just one knock, it's usually a few, at least 3. It seemed like when I broke free of traffic today for a minute and got up to cruising speed in fourth I swear I heard it knock as soon as I let off the gas and started coasting back down while in gear but it's harder to hear with the car moving, and it only does it a few times and then stops. I did a search but couldn't find any answers, what could be causing this? I've heard CV joints making cars knock when going around curves but it seems to be caused more by changes in acceleration than side-to-side movement. I dunno, it's driving me nuts. I still have the certified used bumper-to-bumper (only 57k on the clock) and I'm going to make an appointment but I like to have a basic idea of what's wrong so I know i'm not getting taken for a ride by the dealership.
Mine did the same thing as yours. It drove me crazy. Everytime that I applied my brakes or accelerate my car, it would knock. I discovered problem by accident. My Front lower radius rod bolt uncrewed itself from the rod. These bolts are self locking nut, but some particular reason, they unscrew themselves. If the screw is loose, get yourself some new locking nuts from Honda.

Does it make sense that it seems to only get bad after I've been driving it for a while in stop-and-go traffic? Did your knocking get worse in those conditions too?
Hey mine is doing the same thing, but it only seems to do it when its hot out and I only notice it when I am in a trafic jam just inching along at a very slow pace. I posted a thread on here yesterday with no replies but was anxious to see yours! Glad to know that someone else is having the same problem. Let me know what the dealer says.
Yeah it makes sitting in traffic pretty annoying, *knock knock knock* as your inching forward then *knock knock* when you're slowly coming to a stop.
***UPDATE***
Just got back from the dealer, they said that the problem is in the steering rack? And so they're going to replace the steering rack and tie rod ends and charge honda care with it. Wierd.
