Default Exhaust and intake differences between 2003-2005 and 2006 Accords?

Hey!

My dad recently bought a 2006 Accord LX V6, and he's looking to get an exhaust and intake. I know there are differences between the 2003-2005 and 2006 Accords, but I was wondering if that includes the exhaust and intake parts.

I'm swaying him towards a Comptech exhaust and AEM V2 intake. Does anyone know if there's anything better? Also, does anyone know the stock exhaust diameter for the pipes and tips?

Thanks!

They have the same chassis and engine, so the exhaust/intake should be identical.

The Accord exhaust manifold is now integrated into the head so all you will be able to replace is the downpipe. 03-06 V6 has a integrated manifold
Edited for stupidity

Shutupnskate is wrong. The chassis is different for 2006 models, it is shorter now. And the engine is a k24a8 instead of a k24a4, it is about the same, but different tuned ECU.

I won't challenge MooGoCow3 on what is stated above, he would know best.

Intake doesn't matter in the end, they all are about the same performance, fujita sounds the loudest so I hear. I have AEM CAI, works fine. AEM V2 does offer a bit more of a performance punch however, and sounds the deepest.

Exhaust again, is all based on what you want. If you want great sounding, the comptech sounds great IMHO, but there are many other options. Apexi, Greddy, Tanabe, etc.

It's not the same engine but the same principle applies

the accord V6 is not traditional exhaust manifold

Here is 2003 model

The collector is intergrated into the head

Here is the 06 model

As you can see the collector is still intergrated into the head.

I believe that in 2K6 ALL V6 get the same high performance intake that was originally on the 6MT car.

Majestic Honda's website (aka HondaAutomotiveParts.com) There really isn't too much you can do since the cats are the next part attached to that . All you can really do is Cat back for performance.

Is the Fujita just loud? Or does it sound nice?

OK... I've decided to get the Tanabe Super Hyper Medallion. Has anyone used this exhaust on a V6? How does it sound? Is it too loud? I used to have a Super Racing Medallion on my older Civic and it was REALLY nice (of course it was loud as hell, but the SMR is totally different than the SHM.

Thanks!
