Default O-ring + Hondabond or just O-ring on a waterpump?

If anyones got a manual or knows the proper way of doing this I'd appreciate it.

I think I've done it both ways and its worked fine but I should be able to use just the O-ring right?

I just use the o-ring /gasket thats comes on the water pump. Not worth the risk of hondabond getting caught in the coolant passages IMO. I have been doing cars at the dealership like for years and also the high output engines I do also .

Just my 2cents

uhh, dude rtv or honda bond would never be able to block a passage unless u stuck the nozle in the block and let it loose. its perfectly fine to go with or without, just think about how much it would suck to redo a timing belt, removing the covers, power steering, alt, a/c, oil pump/balance shaft belt, having to re-set your tensionor (if your that brave) or buy a new $90 one.

thats alot of work if it leaks, i know it just happened to me on a b-series that i didnt use sealant on, and b's arent have the pita the h's are

I'll prolly go without and see what happens. Prolly only take me an hour to get it switched out if there was a prob. I'm not running most of the things you listed akstunt600 and I also got a manual tensioner on there so if it does leak its not the end of the world.

I've never used honda-bond on the water pump. The o-ring is all you need as long as it's new and the surfaces are clean.

Cool, I just wasnt sure what Honda thought, lol. Unfortunately it didnt get done today anyways cuz nobody in DesMoines has a gasket so I guess I'll have to wait till Monday and see if the Honda dealer has one.
