2002 Civic Automatic Tansmission Problems. HELP!
I have a 2002 Civic EX with 65,000 miles. It has an automatic transmission. When I get in it first thing when its cold, it slips from 2nd to 3rd gear. It will do this until the car is warmed up and in normal operating temp. I have been told that it is due to a defective clutch pack carrier and that the part was designed to thin and that it ust desinigrates gets into the fluid and causes pump clogage then ultimately frys the tranny. From what I have heard they do know about the problem and are just taking it case by case and keeping it on the DL because a recal would cost millions. I go to the dealership religiously for oil changes and all scheduled maintainance. Has anyone experienced the same thing or know of anyone who has? Is there any documentation about this? Any help on this would be highly appreciated. Thank you so very much!
