Anyone ever use the Ebay Tien knockoff hood dampers?

Anyone ever use the Ebay Tien knockoff hood dampers?
I ordered some for a DC since they don't make em for a DA and was going to see if I can fit them on. But I took them out of the box and the shocks like don't compress or depress. I was wondering if there's something I have to do? I put all my weight onto them and they don't push in, and I tried pulling the bar out more and it doesn't come. Do I have to like twist the bar or something? TIA

I'm not confused at all, I have in my hand what's in the pictures. They're knockoff's I was just trying to figure out how to make them work.
