changes for 2003
I'm new to the forum and am seriously considering buying a new rsx-s in the next few weeks. One of my concerns with buying this car however is that it is in it's first model year. Does anybody know if the 2003 model will be coming out this summer/fall (like most new models)? Also, is there any information about what will be different in the 2003 car?
I've heard that there won't be any real changes except possibly little things like a gas cap holder (although I've also heard that they've already added that to the current model). In any event, its probably pretty safe to get one now.
I'd think about, waiting for the RSX-R, yeah know really knows for sure if it's going to come here, but if you are going to throw that much money, I guessing around 23k to 27k for a new RSX-S I'd think about what else you could get fo that kinda of money, but if you've thought about it full speed around jedi knight
here's of pic of the RSX-R

This car also has to be a daily commuter, and I want my leather, I want my sunroof (this one for sure), I want my heated seats, etc. The Type-R line doesn't provide these unless dealer installed. Plus the old Type-R didn't even have factory A/C!

What you need is the new Mercedes coupe. heated seats leather

That wing absolutely ruins the lines of the car.
And yes, leather sucks. I'd pay more for cloth, but the idiots at Acura don't offer that even as an option on the Type-S.

not a bad car but you pay too much for the name and don't necessarily get as good a car...i considered the merc but it's too expensive and there isn't enough aftermarket support (and what is available is also super expensive)...

Hey, what'd you have on your GTI? The problem with going the V6 rout is there's a lot more out for the 1.8T engine. There isn't really all that much out engine wise for the VR6. Though I know one company that has a really impressive supercharger out there for it. Were you happy with the car in general? How did it hold up quality wise?

I'll check it out when I go to the dealer this weekend to make a deal. I've already started stripping all the mods from my current car (95 GTI VR6) so I can trade it in. Anybody wanna buy VW performance parts?

I absolutely loved my GTI. But I ran out of stuff to do to it. I could have added boost, but the cheapest S/C or Turbo kit was around $8000 cdn. Plus the gas was killing me. My commute to work is over 50km one way. Also I just bought a house this year so I don't have extra cash lying around.
Basically I got bored since I couldn't do stuff to it anymore, so I decided to buy a new car and start over. I don't really like the new lineup from VW so I figured I'd try the Honda/Acura scene.
The VR6 is an expensive engine to build, but there is a ton of stuff available for it. The 1.8T is a great motor, and is easy/cheap to build power out of, but if you want ultimate power, the VR is the better choice. I know guys running 600+hp to the wheels with turbo'd VR's (around 25psi). The owner of the shop I dealt with to help build mine is working on a tube-framed first-gen Jetta, running a 45psi turbo'd VR through a 6spd tranny. He's guessing he'll make around 900hp and run 8.5's...

It's easy to say "buy the R" or even "buy the Type-S" >>> but insurance can add up quickly on those, especially if you are riding with an accident or ticket(s).
As a former GTI VR6 owner (97 DE), that's a very impressive list of mods! Way to go!
And having a 98 ITR without AC and having to give up the leather, sunroof, cruise, etc. to get it, I have to say, I'm much happier with my Type R than I ever was with my GTI. You really won't miss that stuff as much as you think.

Only a 13.99 with a 1.9 60ft and 234 @ the wheels? Something doesn't seem right.
