Default air conditioning help......

My air conditioning went out. I thought that it needed to be recharged, but I pressed the valve stems and they were full. What else could be wrong?

Your compressor could have died. Wanna buy mine?

its possible that your compressor clutch isn't engaging. Turn on the a/c and look at the end of your compressor and look to see if the clutch is spinning with the pulley. If its not spinning your compressor won't engage

I see the pully spinning and I see the belt moving but still no cold air. Also my tach jumps up a little when I turn on the ac. Any other ideas?

freon all leaked out... it's not as thick as the oil that'll seal the lines...

check the thermal switch on the top of the compressor it may be bad. Short across it and see if the compressor starts and cools. If it starts but does not cool look else where. Does the freon blast out when you press on the schrader valve?

Since some of your freon is in the liquid state due to the line pressure, you are dealing with a two phase system here. This means that you will still have full pressure until the charge gets very low.
