Default need help! airbags deployed

ok i dont know why my airbags deployed because i rearended someone else at like 1mph. theres no body damage and no paint damage but my airbags came out anyways. the guy didnt even take my insurance because there was no point.

my question is how much is it to fix the airbags or is the a way just to take it out completely? thanks

Well first of all no estimate is going to be correct without the year, model, trim level and mileage. But this is going to be costly out of pocket either way you look at it.
But you should still always get insurance info no matter who was at fault!

is there a way to just take it out? the airbags shouldnt have come out in the first place and i think it would be better without them

You can definately take them out but it isn't an advisable choice. That car was designed to protect you in a crash using air bags.
Also in order for the airbags to deploy your car stopped at two times the force of gravity. So something seems a little off with your story.
But i'm sure you can just get a racing wheel and a plug for the dashboard if you so desire. You would need to disconnect the SRS unit and remove the SRS light from the gauge cluster.

its actually pretty easy to install the airbags themselves, also you will need to replace the srs control unit with an "undeployed" unit.

but, on the dealer note..

this once happened to me a while back, so for ***** and giggles i went to honda to get a quote...

they said $1500 at least per side plus labor for installation..
and i wanna say they said something about recording the vin#, so i dunno if maybe you did that it would show up as airbags being replaced if you ever tried to sell and they did a carfax?

it would show up in a carfax as an incident... on another note my car was stuffed(accident) BAAAAAAAAADDDD I pluged the passangers side for now wiht black duct tape (plan on putting custon 7'' LCD moniter in it's place for ***** and giggles) and took out the popped airbag from the stock honda steering wheel.....yes there is a hollow place there which I actually use to hold ****!!!! like my smokes and a pic of me and my girl......you can just replace it with an aftermarket steering wheel as stated by someone else....but for my accord 95 DX they(honda) quoted me 650 for drivers and 550 for passangers........so yeah that was without labor.......I'd rather spend 1200 on a down payment on boost but thats just my opinion
