Default ** INFO PLEASE on 1992 Prelude with H22A engine **

First off I'd like to say I'm new here and it seems like a good informative forum.

Lets get to the point. I'm looking to purchase a 92 Honda Prelude for $5,800 CND.
There car is hit from the side, but he said it will cost no more than $1000 CND for the door and fender to be repaired. Door is going to be replaced and re-painted.

Sidenote: The things like sunroof and rear quarter panel will not be something I'm worrying about at the moment. Also it's a 92 with 4WS.. but the 4ws is turned off

Here's a list of goods and bads.

Good - H22A Engine with 80,000kms
- LSD Transmission
- Bi-Directional Viper Alarm system + motion sensors
- Camber Kit
- Air Intake
- Headers
- Lighter Flywheel
- Ceramic Clutch
- All leather + Cloth included
- 16" Mags
- $300 CD Player
- The floor is A-1
- New Urethane Bushings
- New Ball joints
- Practically all new parts mechanic is A-1

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bad - Door and Fender
- Windshield
- Rear Window Rust strip
- Both rear quarter panels are bubbling and cracking
- Little scratch on front bumper
- Little dents on the hood
- Little bit of rust on bottom of door
- Cracking paint
- Broken Antenna
- Sunroof Replacement
- All in all it needs little touch ups here are there
- No A/C (taken out when swapped)
- Bald Tires
- Brakes have (+/-10,000kms)

So the question is, is this car worth buying and fixing?

Pictures are here

Bubbling of the rear quarter panel

Cracked windshield

Right side of car (notice the dents on the hood from rocks(will probably change to cf with time))

Sunroof (will most likely replace it with glass)

The wheel well after the hit on the driver side scraped the paint off (will be repaired with the door and the fender)

The driver side

Close up on the driver side

Let me know ASAP..

Thanks!

yeah - you'd be a fool to buy that car. Tell him to drop the price WAY down, take the engine out and put it in something else. Let him take the wheels too.

not for that much......with all the trouble you'd be fetting into..hell no do what king was talking about, yes I have friends who cut and weld dented 1/4panels but it's illegal for 1 and 2 weakens the structuaral integrity of the car.....that car looks like trouble to me...I'd give him 2500 US at the most and keep the wheels they are ugly and bald but someone might find them pretty.....does the car run as of now????? have somebody who knows cars come and take a look at it and see if the motor is a-okay..fixing that car is problems try alot more than 1000 (x5)

I wouldn't try and fix it

Yea that price is to much man. But not even that I would be concerned with what's going to go next. That car is pretty heavily modded and who knows if something else is on the way out. How do I know it's heavily modded? Cuz 92's don't have H22's so he swapped that in, plus you have LSD. Not to mention you have all leather which was another swap he would have had to do cuz 92's only came in cloth AFAIK unless the CDN is different. Sounds this guy was pretty serious about beatin this car. The fact that the fool crashed is also evidence enough.

that's way too high for an old wrecked Prelude. A friend of mine bought a 92 4WS Prelude for only $1300, with an H23, but has major rod knock, and needs to fix the 4WS as well....Other than that, the body was in pretty good shape
