Ok, before the fire starts, I don't even own an Accord and never have, so I'm extremely out of my element here. Last night a good buddy of mine who works for Honda was talking about trying to find information on swapping a 3 liter V6 into his 97 Accord wagon. Has anyone ever heard of this type of swap? What engine is he talking about? Is the swap even gonna be worth the trouble? Any info would be great.

 

3 liter v6 would probably be the J30 from the 98-02 v6 accord.

possible? probably. easy? NO. the 5th gen chassis was different from 4cyl to 6cyl. mounting a j30 into the 4cyl 5th gen engine bay will not be easy, nor will the wiring be.

would it be worth it? not in my personal opinion. for a swap on that car I'd stick to the H22 - tried and true 5th gen swap.
