the Bat ... is sold
I've had a great friendship with 2000 ITR #739. But after 6 years, 2 months and 10 days, our friendship came to an end last night. When the new owner drove off with it, I realized how unprepared I was for that moment. I've had my R listed for sale for a while, but I wasn't fully prepared to see it drive away like that.
It's almost ridiculous how much that caR has affected my life. It got me into hpde's and eventually into racing. And, it introduced me to an awesome community and the best friends a guy could ever hope to have. How ironic that I sell it the day after I get home from Expo6, which IMO is a celebration of those two things which are very dear to me.
I don't plan on checking out of H-T, and I hope the new owner decides to get involved in the ITR community. He seems like a real nice guy, and he's expressed an interest in tracking the car. Although I get the feeling it won't be pampered quite as much as it's used to, I think it went to a good home, and that's very important to me.
Well it's time for me to start searching in earnest for her planned replacement, something MR. Goodbye Bat, you will be missed.

The mullet shall ride again. Sorry to hear you got rid of it, but it sounds like it was a decision that had to be made. Hope you find as much happiness in your next car.
Good to hear she went to a good home.
Must have been a sad sight to see her go though.
I can't imagine selling my ITR, at least not yet.
So what's the replacement vehicle?

I am glad that it sold, although kind of sad as well. I never got to see that car being driven, except for in the videos. I know that the replacement will be much better, but I know the feeling of selling your R. Even though I had only had mine for about 6 months before I sold it, I was totally crushed right after it was gone. I only went 2 weeks before I bought another one though
So........ can I get a ride in the MR beast?

It is a shame that circumstances lead up to the departure of the R. I know that you will miss her, but it is hopefully for the best.
So when is the CaymanS arriving?

BINGO! I'm leaning towards a v6 mid-engine rwd honda, although I'm trying to keep an open mind and test drive some other cars (s2000, m3, rx7). The replacement will most likely do similar duty - never see rain/snow, and driven mostly on weekends and the track.
I'm pretty sure it went to a good home. I don't want to be nosey because it's his caR now, but I hope I get to see it around, maybe at Expo7.

heh, I was thinking the same thing about the "pampered" comment
She'll be missed Jim, I can't imagine how I'd feel. I guess I'll be finding out pretty soon. I was broken up enough when I sold my first Integra... and the only reason it was okay was because I was getting the ITR. So the lesson is, UPGRADE.
Here's a pic of our R's together at Topeka the first time I came up for an HPDE with you and Jeff:

I know the feeling well.
I was literally in mourning for few days after selling '00 #281 with only 14K ticks on the odo. I guess that being bummed about selling it, is better than having to deal with some lowlife driving off in it in the middle of the night.
I got top bucks for it, but money comes and goes, pampered low miles ITR's with psycho-protective owners don't come along every day.
Best wishes on your new venture bat!

Might want to shoot Jond a PM, he recently sold his ITR for a NSX, he can probably provide some input on the transition.
