Air Conditioning Suddenly Stopped Working.....
(91 Si)
Does the compressor or a/c system have fuses and/or relays?
Is there a way to check if the compressor is working properly?
My a/c worked cold as hell yesterday, and blows warm today. I find it hard to believe that it suddenly ran out of freon.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

It the refrigerant level has to be REALLY low to keep the compressor from turning on. There would be serious evidence (dirty oil on the hoses/pipes/clutch) if he lost all the freon in one day. My system blows warm at the start of the season every year, but the compressor is still staying on (just needs a recharge)...
There is a compressor clutch relay on the upper radiator support. It is located between the battery & the upper radiator support (behind the headlight). There are two in that location, and I cannot remember which one is the compressor relay. They look like little black rubber rectangle boxes. They suck to work with because they are packed with waterproofing grease, and the rubber jackets tear really easy when you try to remove them (then they look shitty). If you don't have the Helms manual then I say let a professional handle it. You have to figure out which pins to jump to make the compressor clutch pop on. If you don't have the manual, how are you going to tell (especially if the clutch is dead)...
