help getting main caps off
so those dowel pins are a bitch....so far basically ive been sticking a screwdriver between the girdle and the #1 and 5 journal caps and wedging the giirdle off, which brings the #2 3 and 4 caps off with it, then lightly with a rubber mallet ive been tapping the #1 and 5 journel caps until it comes off, this was ok getting it off, but i need to plastigauge it now that im reinstalling and im sure the wedging with a screwdriver and tapping with a rubber mallet will increase the force being applied on top of the torque of the main bolts, which wont give me accurate plastigauge results
so question is, what is the best way to get the main caps off so that 1) i dont mess up the journel itself and 2) can get the caps off so that the plastigauge readings will be as accurate as possible
thanks
oh yeah, tried searching but all that came up were torque spec requests....
