Default Expo 6 Thoughts

Expo 6 Thoughts
To all those who were in attendance, I hope that the event met or exceeded your expectations. For those that hadn’t heard, I was unable to attend due to severe back pains that I have had for the last couple of weeks.

I want to give a HUGE thanks to all of the organizers that helped make this event possible. Without them, the event would not have been near as successful as it was.

Jon D – You did an awesome job handling the sponsors, especially considering this was your first time at it. The spread that the sponsors provided was very impressive and it was a huge role to take on. Thank you, and I hope you will consider taking it on next year.

Dave-ROR – Thank you again for taking care of the database and online registration. This has been a tremendous asset to keeping information strait and up-to-date, and I think we would be lost without it. Also thanks for setting the agenda/timeline for the banquet activities and searching for a place for the banquet.

Willard – I really appreciate you taking over the responsibility of the classroom sessions. To me, this is a big part in the success of the event, especially when we have the number of “novices” that we do at the Expos. Keeping everyone safe and keeping them focused is our number one priority.

Chris N and cheezthis – You guys have done an amazing job taking on anything and everything that gets thrown at you. You two were instrumental in getting the instructors that we needed lined up, setting the run groups (over and over again), taking care of the driver’s meetings, handling grid, registration…. hell, the list is endless. Thank you guys for stepping up in my absence. From all of the comments that I have heard, the event didn’t miss a beat and I think that speaks volumes about your efforts.

Batoutahell – Thank you for instructing and putting together the driver’s packets. Also, thank you for doing all of the leg work on the event hotel information and possible banquet venues. I think we ended up with the ideal situation.

Budman – Jeff, keeping ITRCA.com up to date with the latest Expo information has been key to keeping everyone informed and excited about the event. Without it, the success of the event would suffer in many respects. The sponsors, hotels, tracks, etc. all refer to it in there consideration of entertaining our requests. You have been a huge help and it is exciting to see the site so well maintained and updated.

Mugen Mike – Thank you for providing the printed material as you have in years past. It provides that extra level of style and impressiveness to the event.

Clayton – I understand you made everyone’s night at the banquet a good one with your dj’ing skills. You have always helped a lot with the Expo’s playing misc. roles, and it is very much appreciated!

Instructors – You all are instrumental in making the event and providing a positive experience for the “students”. Your efforts and contributions are critical to the success of the event and it could not be done without you all. All of the students’ comments that I have heard have been nothing but of the highest praise for their instructors, and that is very rare to have a unanimous consensus.

Attendees – Hearing all of the positive comments that I have over the last few days makes all the hard work worth it. I hope that everyone had a positive experience and went away being impressed with the event, the people you met, and how it was run. I hope you all will consider going to Expo 7. Things are in progress to find another location for next year’s event. I am sure it will be several months until we know anything for sure.

Sponsors – I am very impressed with how the sponsors responded to supporting our event. The sponsors make the banquet what it is. Thank you for all of the support, it helps make the event that more credible and impressive. I also want to thank the sponsors that have supported us over the years time and time again: Cobalt, King, VPR, P1, and Hondata.

Josh – Thank you for continuing the tradition and taking the aerial photographs. It is always really cool to see the shots that you capture.

I am sure that I forgot to mention something, as there is soooooooo much that goes into making this event as successful as it is. It really takes a cooperative core of people to pull this off, and I feel fortunate to have such a great group of guys to work with. I am a little drugged up so I apologize if I forgot something.

Thanks to everyone for another successful event!!!!

Wes

Indeed.
Wes, as you already know. Even in your absence the event was in "great hands."
The event was flawless. I'm so proud to be a part of the ITR community.

well it's just like that because the Driver Spots weren't filled up with ITR owners, so after that they just open it up pretty much, full roster of ITRs = no other cars with the exception of instructors i think

Wes - I can't think of anything more to the point than "it really sucked not having you there after all the hard work and effort YOU PUT IN!!!!". The reason Expo 6 happened was because of you.

Thank you.

No problem at all... in fact it was more of a challenge that I had thought.

I did find out the hard way that I don't really take well to public speaking (while sober). I hope that my crappy handouts and so-so classroom sessions provided 'some' help to the drivers.
I will be speaking to Tony Robbins soon to help me for next time.

I am sure my lack of in class prowess made it harder for the in-car instructors.

I had to rely on a track regular "velveeta-that" (cheezethis) to answer some track specific notes. If we were at VIR or Lowe's it would be another story.

After a ride with Victor the track was just like it was for #2.

I had a blast and will see you all at #7.

Willis

Public Speaking class works wonders... just not when your un-sober.
