question about h22 in 94 accord auto?
i have a question. my friend is selling a h22 for dirt cheap $500 and im running the F22B2 with auto. i was wondering if i could drop the h22 in and still use the auto tranny?....or which auto tranny would fit it....i dont want to spend a lot of money tryin to convert it to a 5speed. any input will be great. thanks for your time..

I too have a "94 Auto and I'm curious about the H22 swap. My engine just died and I was going ot have a 125hp engine from a "93 put in but I realize I've got one opportunity to do the engine right. I would consider a H22 swap if I don't have to get buried in a bunch of small stuff to make it work.
http://www.nippon-motors.com/honda.htm has the H22 for $975 is that about standard? Your $500 price is great. Lucky guy.
Man I wish my car would have been a 5-Speed from the start. The though of that H22 and a stick is bliss.

yes, it will bolt up to your trans just fine, you will only need to exchange the driver side engine mount for one from a 92-96 prelude and shave it down to fit...
That's good news. It sucks that such a fine engine would be mated to an automatic but hell it's gonna be faster than the 130hp engine it's replacing.
Where's the best place (and reliable) to search for rebuilt Honda engines? I did a search on "rebuilt engines" and got nada so maybe my terms need to be a bit better.
Momstaxi thanks for your help. I thought I was going to have to junk the Honda that has been reliable and carried me through 5 years but if I can show a little love to it I'm fine with that. It shall be my tinker vehicle.
I might be coming into a 2000 Black LX with only $39k miles within a year if all goes well. That'll be my next toy and I'll have bigger plans for it.

so other then the driver side engine mount. everything should bolt right on?....and i have to get a motor mount from a 92-96 lude. define "shave to fit". thanks
Just so you are fully aware, that transmission won't take much of a beating before it craps out on you. Honda ATs blow *****. Then mating a trans that was originally on a 130 HP a the flywheel engine, to a 200 HP to the flywheel engine. Not smart IMO because in the end you'll spend more to pull everything back out again. But that's just my personal opinion.
