Simple Question about LSD tranny for h22a...
I'm supposed to pick up my engine tomorrow or the day after and I was wondering how I can tell which tranny i have. Is there some sort of code like on the engine? Also what would the regular code be? I'm purchasing a jdm h22a, so you might need to know that..- oh and will the engine code say "h22a" or "h22a1"? Thanks again for your help!
if it's JDM it'll say H22A on the bell housing. if it's US it'll say H22A1. you can also tell if it has an LSD by looking through the axle/int. shaft input on the tranny. if you can see through to the other side, it has LSD.

that's right, and the tranny code will be M2B4-xxxxxxx , but looking thru the diff is a sure way to tell because sometimes people put LSD's in regular trannys.

I just picked up my engine today- a long 6 weeks later
! Anyways, I was looking at the code and mine said m2a4. I realized that this is probably not an LSD, until I looked through the axel/int. and could see through. I also took off the valve cover and noticed an after market timming belt (sure grip or something). Then I check out the plugs and they were practiacally brand new ngk... Everything inside the engine was extremly clean and had little to know buidup of any sorts ie from oil. The outside was a little shaddy looking, but once I took off the valve cover I was pleased. You think I have an LSD?

Well, if u can see all the way thru the diff with no obstructions, I'd say it has one! I'd swap that timing belt for a honda one while it's out. Sounds like someone loved that motor during it's life!

I bought my JDM h22a from a local company. I was trying to help support these shops and paid a bit more. For a tranny, ecu, and engine I spent 2900 (came w/ a 1 year/12,000 mile warrenty). So I waited, and waited, and waited for 6 weeks. It got here the night before I was supposed to get my money back. It had deffinate shipping damages. The motor looked like ****, but it's whats on the inside that counts. Looks great. I would not reccomend them.
best way to tell is to jack up your car and rotate 1 wheel and if they both move together then you DEFINTELY have LSD .. I have M2A4 and i dont have LSD, but i got a phatty Quaife in there
although my friend has a M2B4 and he has OEM LSD ..so there ya go people the M2F4 is the USA h22a tranny. non lsd of course.
