Default PGM-FI Light? Loud Exhaust

alright another newb question... I just got this cheapo 87 CRX SI and it runs great but on the highway this PGM-FI light comes on. Any idea what this could mean and how do I go about pulling the codes form the ECU. I'm really sorry as this is an Ubre newb question. Also the exhaust on the thing is evil loud. What is a cheap and effective way to silence an 87 CRX. Thanks for the help

1g CRX codes - ECU is under passenger seat - look at side of ECU and you will see 4 LEDs - each LED has a value associated with it (binary) reading from left to right it is 8 - 4 - 2 - 1 - add up the numbers for the LEDs that are lit and that will tell you the code - for instance, if the second from the left and the one on the right are lit up, it would be 4+1 = 5 which is code for MAP - code numbers are basically the same as for the 2g CRX - these are kind of fuzzy but maybe you can read them
