Do you have mpfi or dpfi?

There is a light in your ecu that will blink for you to check codes. Turn the car on and count the lights.

Turn the car on.

Wait until the light pauses.

Count each time it lights up until it pauses again.

The number of times it lights up will tell you the code number.

Search your code number.

Fix your problem.

the Check Engine Light will go off every time you shut the ignition off but the codes will still be retained in the ECU until you reset it - turn ignition on and look at the LED on top of the ECU and count the flashes - unless it has been converted to OBD1 and then you will need to jumper it

Are you sure it does not pause for about 1.5-2 seconds then it blinks again.

if it is just blinking once then pausing, I think that mean 02 sensor.

Search for your pm6 codes.

Check the wiring on your o2 sensor, maybe it fried somehow.

Check the distributor cap, plug wires, and plugs. If those are good make sure your ground wires are all good.

Sounds like whoever did the swap didnt switch the wires on the TPS. When going DPFI to MPFI (like the swap you have), they need 2 wires need to be reversed, or else the resistance is telling the ECU your giving it full throttle at idle and idle (or close to it) at full throttle.
