you mean it feels like the rev limiter is at 3500revs? that would indicate that its running in limp mode...check the ecu for codes..

it isn't throwing any... that's the wierd part... I replaced the distributor wit cap and rotor/new plugs/plug wires/fuel filter/fuel pump/fuel injectors and the list goes on and on...just every little thing i could think of and it's still doing it..

do you know how to check the codes? not calling you stupid or anything just making sure cause its weird that you have a 3500rev limit but no codes...

yeah i know how to read the codes... I had similar problems last year on a stock sir motor but it ended up being that it had wrong plugs in it... The only other things i can think of is bad O2 sensor, plugged cat... by the way do you know were i can find a vaccum diagram for a first gen B16????

even with a plugged cat you could rev above 3500rpm..and if it was the o2 it would throw a code (after driving it for a while of course)

this is the stock b16a vacuum setup,,but i dont have all that **** hooked up,,only have the map sensor, brake booster, and fuel pressure regulator..all the other stuff is gone/capped..

i had the same problem before too and it was a faulty ecu didnt throw a code or anything... tried my old d16 ecu and it reved up just fine.

If thats not the problem have you checked the ignitor in the distributor? that wont always throw a code

Check timing. If you've jump a tooth your car will limp.

yup, timing off a couple teeth would do it. or a blown headgasket between cylinders would cause u to lose compression

If it did that you would hear it/fell it at idle.

Clogged cat will retain you from going high in revvs. Too much back pressure. A quick way to check is to undo the header from the cat and revv her up.

A blown coil would make it die. Same with ignitor. It would just crank over and over.

Try a different ECU.

thats not completely right usually the ignitor shows signs before it completely gives out

have you ever used this ecu before or did you jsut get it?

check all the connections on the wires of your distributor. make sure everything is good and nothing is loose.

sounds like the same problem a lot of people have with used dizzys on mpfi swaps, sounds like a crank position sensor problem, check your wiring, and if it all looks good, id try to find a known good dizzy and swap it out to check that

Hello
I have a 1991 Honda Civic LX 1.5L.
Recently, I start the car and it won't Rev passed 3500 RPM it lacks power. It doesn't turn off. I checked the computer under the passenger front and it throws 2 sets of codes. One is 16 red flickering lights and the other is 4 red flickering lights. The latter is about the fuel injector. I saw one in green color. I took it off and measured its OHM and it says 8.4 - 8.6 ohm it should be from what I learned 12-14 ohm. So I bought a refurbished one and it measured 8.6 ohm. I was thinking we'll maybe I am not sure off the measurement so I installed it and the car still doing the same thing. I'm really frustrated with my lack of knowledge and my lack funds to get a diagnostic.

Is there anyone can help me in anyway possible?

Regards,
Gus

sounds to me like you need to replace the distributor - code 4 on the ECU is for the crank angle sensor - code 16 is for the fuel injector - with a code 4 and not wanting to rev beyond 3500 is a common symptom of a bad distributor on these cars

Thank you for replying.
I have a brand new distributor on it.
maybe it's not good..
It's hard to find oem parts for these cars.. so it's hit and miss when buying electrical part.
