Default Idle adjustment

I just threw in cams and valvetrain, and tried adjusting the idle using the screw on the TB like everyone says. However, when I disconnected the IAC, the car just stalls. I tried loosening the screw more and retrying to unplug the IAC without stall, however, I wasn't able to get the car to stay on.

So pretty much I have no way to adjusting the idle besides just adjusting the screw with the IAC on. did a search already and couldn't find anything useful. Did anyone else have this same problem?

Explain again why you are disconnecting the IACV?

you are supposed to unplug the IAC when you are adjusting the idle speed.

I have always adjusted idles w/the IACV connected.

What cams? If they have large primaries you will need to have fuel/ignition control at idle, ie: Crome, Hondata, AEM...etc
