Default Found a random bolt in my driveway --> What is it?!

Where could it be from? My car is driving fine, but I found it where I usually park my car!

Absolutely the alternator bolt. The nut is missing and if its not on your driveway better get another one before the alt loosens too much and battery light comes on. It is a 14mm nut I believe.

I just went out and checked my alternator and I can't see where it could go! Anyone got a pic of where it goes? Is it underneath, and that's why I couldn't see it?

It goes on the bottom. It bolts the alternator to the bracket which is bolted to the block.

wow...did you find the nut? my guess is the nut fell off a while ago and the bolt worked its way out later....i mean if you find it in your driveway, then great, but you might want to just hit up your local hardware store or hondaautomotiveparts.com.

Take off the wheel on the driver side and youll see where it should be. Just to the right of the crank pulley

That's come loose on me before but while driving! Make sure to torque that nut down, maybe some weak Loc-tite.

I had one fall out while I was driving. I made it about 4 blocks before my battery light came on...

just changed my alt. 2 days ago...in case you didn't know by now...that's the alt bolt. If your wondering how you made it so far without it, because your alt is wedged in that spot super tight if its never been moved. I took off the belt and removed the upper & lower bolts. I could swing the alt back and forth, but actually had to get the pry bar out to pop it out of its place. mAd jDM grip in that bracket
I find random bolts daily...usually those standard 10mm heads.

that's the alt bolt for sure. It's connected to the nut in this picture.

Optima Yellow top FTW!

And yeah... wtf man how come it came out so easily? I helped my buddy change his alternator on his HF, it was the original one, it took a bit of force to get that out, and then to break the alt free... they seem to pivot and hold just fine without that bolt. Typical Honda, over-engineering the D series

mine fell out while i was on vacation, while i was going down the highway I heard somthing hit the bottom of the car then the belt started sqeaking... was holding it together with the tensioner bolt, finally 5 minuts from my house the alt. belt broke since it was too loose and burning up while slipping
