Default ecu question never ask before i bet money

do you guys think i would save gas using a pm9 evu out of a std civic in replacemnet of a pm5?

try it.


ask someone that chips ECUs to look at the fuel maps. that's your best bet.

pm9 is hf, pm5 is dx.... its not plug and play... you need a dpfi to mpfi conversion

no pm9 is not just hf i took it out of my std civic and jsut plug it in my sx civic and my civic is running no codes and i was wondering if anyone know if i would get better gas mileage with the pm9 out of my std then i would with a pm5 stock in the dx

i thought the pm9 was from the STD hatchback.

pm5 was from the DX. both dpfi.

that is corect if they are for anything else i do not know but i took the pm9 out of my std hatch and put it in replace of the pm5 in my dx wnating to knwo if i would save gas or not?

LOL, pm8, pm9, whatever, hahahha Good catch guys. Why would the std have a different ecu than a dx civic? Isnt it the same eng?? Goes to show how much I know about these motors in stock form

speaking of which....is it possible to make an HF ecu+motor run in a DX chassis....provided i performe the needed MPFI change over? i mena is it possible...i'll probably post a thread regarding this sooner or later..i have some other HF questions i need answered...but for now is that possible?

i put the pm9 in my dx which had a pm5 with no prob at all direct plug and play. and the differnce is that the std as a 4 speed the dx has the 5 spd. well that's the only diffence in my. my std has a d15b2 in ti when i bought it

arite i pull the pm9 out. it felt like i had more power but i was using way to much gas. plus the pm5 as enough power for me and it uses far less gas. not worth the power gain if any. could jsut be i was more on the gas but i tryed not to be because i'm broke this week for gas money and i NEED to get to work.


well that's what got from putting a pm9 into my dx in replacement of my pm5
