Default XM radio

I'm having reception problems with my XM radio. I have it wired up right, and its not the area because my other cars have XM and it works wonderfully. Is it possible the problem could be electrical or i might have a bad antenna? I have alot of stuff in my car, and the antenna wire does run near small power wires.

the car is a 96 accord lx. i was also thinking maybe its the placement of the antenna because its right above the normal radio one (its in the rear windshield)

Definitely could be an antenna going bad... What's it say on your screen? Does it say "Antenna" or "No Signal"???

no it will have 3 bars but it will randomly cut out. I know theres like a second or two delay but it will do it when it seems like it shouldn't be. such as on the highway or something. I just bought it. I think im going to try to move it away from the rear windshield.

swap the antenna for one that you believe works well. see if that makes a difference.

It's my limited experience that the newer the antenna, the more it sucks. it is not my opinion but a matter of physics, that says that a smaller antenna is not as good as a nlarger antenna. if you have a newer, smaller antenna, and are comparing it to an older larger antenna. the new small one wil lose every time.

oh yeah, you can use the older 2 plug antenna with the newer one plug pink antennas as well.
