Default would back pressure cause engine to bog down

alright... i have a b16a1 in a 91 hatch... weve got everything hooked up and the motor runnning... when u go to accelerate the car bogs and wants to stall... we switched my o2 sensors around.. and it still bogs and wants to stall. would this have any thing to do with it not haveing an exhaust aka hardly any back pressure have any thing to do with it... and suggestions would be very helpful

no not having an exhaust would not cause any problems from not having backpressure. backpressure is not needed it is only for mpg and idealy 2 and 1/2 lbs of backpressure would be more efficent but it is not needed i ran open headers for over 2 months. and are you throwing any codes? or is it just when WOT or 1/2 throttle or what?

Its sounds like an ECU problem. I would put the exhaust back on though. Running open exhaust might sound like the car is making more power but its not. I've dynoed too many hondas to know that no exhaust makes power. Your low end will suffer too much. What ECU are you running?

It would only bog and try to stall by reason of exhaust if your exhaust was clogged, i.e. collapsed flex joint, clogged cat, etc.

Did the code clear?
Did you reset the ECU?

I had the same problem on my old crx when I accidently switched the plugs(MAP/IACV). IIRC the plugs are very similar and can be mixed up. Switch the plugs and retest and let us know.
