RUG.

that hurricane in florida flooded my parents basement here in NC. non stop rain, at least 4-6 inches in the basement.

big screen HDTV is gone, 2 big leather couches may be saved, computer and stuff gone, luckily we saved the picture albums, but the whole ground is tile and probably gone.

2 huge persian carpets, soaking wet. worth much much more than my car is, my brother and i had to put them somewhere.

fear not -- all is not lost! the Bud Light banner is still entact!

The rug dye shouldn't have any long term effect on a clear coated paint surface, and the rugs should dry out just fine (assuming there isn't a crazy smell, in which case dry cleaning or some other method might be needed).

How deep did the water get? You might consider getting some cheap folding tables or penny crates (plastic milk crates) at Staples, Costco, or Sams and putting your computers on it.

They will be ok we have had some worse than that and they still look nice. The secret is to make air move on both sides at the same time if you leave them flat on something " like your R " a type of fungus will move in fast... we used a bunch of jack standa and a huge can of any anti fungus stuff..

Oh jack stands and big pvc pipe like a ladder under them so they did not have holes..
Then a big fan or box fan will work..

Damn Koroush, sorry to hear. We found out that a buddy's neighbor got flooded out as well. Thankfully we didn't have anything but a shitty drive to work for Mrs. Splat, and a *really* shitty drive home from Expo 6 for me.

civic broken into on sunday night...$10 (assuming you only lost an air freshner)

2 wet persian rugs...$1,000,000 (assuming again)
winning $2 from the scratcher to bring a smile in the midst of a bad week...PRICELESS!
