Default searched and need a lil more help.. 88std /z6 motor

I have an old 88 std hatch (4spd trans). First, I was going to mini-me it and now i've decided to change things up a little.

I currently have :

z6 head and intake manifold (complete with all bells and whistles) and po6 non vtec manual ecu. (total spent =$175)

I've decided instead of using the 1.5 block which probably could'nt go up to 6k rpms Why not use a z6 (i can get a z6 block for $50)

so would this work...?

z6 block/head/intake manifold

88 std L3 4 speed trans (using an 88 clutch/flywheel on the z6 block)

z6 ex distributor (im a little confused here.. )

po6 non vtec ecu (i plan on chipping it/ if i can add vtec activation with chipping then i'll do it; if not, i'll prob use an rpm switch)

z6 exhaust manifold (currently on the b1 head in the car)

and i still need to get an o2 sensor and plugs for my harness conversion (i've got no problem re-wireing my car and making my own harnesses).

the distributor... could i use a non vtec 92-95 41u? or would i have to get a vtec 42u?

i havent really came across any dizzys with low prices... i'll prob end up getting a newish off of ebay for around $100. if anyone has one i can use... pm, im or e-mail me!!

a little help is much appreciated (considering i prob wont buy a 95 to 00 until next year)!!

Okay, you need the z6 dizzy and to convert to obd1, because other dizzies won't mount to the z6 head. Vtec/nonvtec doesn't matter on the dizzy, just the mounting, but you basically need to use either a z6 or z1 dizzy and convert to obd1 and use a p28 or chipped vtec p06 (yes, you can add vtec).

Yes you need a TD-42U and for the love of god don't do a rpm acitvated thing. Chip the P06.

You won't get anywhere the potential of the motor using the STD tranny w/ only 4 gears. Its geared for gas mileage and not performance. Try and find a SI tranny if you can.

Man, the std tranny isn't gear for anything besides cheapness, it has terrible high speed rpms,
