Kumho Ecsta, worth the price (seach is haywire)
I tried searching but I keep getting errors.
I'm planning on buying Kumho Ecsta tires in 205/50/15 (for stock 01 GSR rims). I can get them for $316.13USD. Is this a good price? Will I be happy with this tire? I don't want a tire that is TOO noisy or wears out after 10000kms.
TIA

They will perform better than the stock tires. They should last at least 15-20k miles(30k km). Longevity is driver dependant though. They are not noisy either.
Great tires for the $$$$, I think people around here would definitly agree. Check out www.tirerack.com if I remember correctly they are $60 per tire.
I love my kumhos. I also special ordered the 205/50/15 in a Z rating, instead of the VR. I borrowed some wheels with the VR rated kumhos, and they don't grab nearly as well as the Z rateds do. They are great in the dry, and they really shine when the road is wet...it's almost like the road is dry. They are a very quiet tire, definitely worth the $300 I paid for them.
They're great tires for the price. Great for daily driving, you'll be disappointed if you autoX. The ones on my CRX have gotten shitty after about 10K miles and just a hanful of autocrosses.

Although they have a lower utgq rating, the Pirelli P700Z and Falken Azenis will dominate over the Kumho in EVERY way. I bought a set of Pirelli P700Z recently in 205/50-15 for $240 shipped. The Pirellis and Azenis have stiffer sidewalls and softer compounds for a super sticky grip. If you look around, IMO you can find a better tires for $316 than the Kumho. I had the Kumho and gave them to my girlfriend

The Kumho ECSTA Supra 712's are a great tire for the money and are fabulous on wet pavement as well as dry. I was amazaed at the grip they maintained on wet surfaces. The price is right for this tire, no doubt. Keep in mind, I'm referring to the Z rated 205-40-17's I have. Though my size was different, same compound, same tread.

I heard the Kumho suck in wet weather? Anyone here experience it?
