CAR LEAKING!
HEY I DONT KNOW WHATS LEAKING OUT OF MY CAR. i thought it was my coolant because i fill my resevoir to full 2 days ago and now its in the mid. i also smell gas every time i stop. i checked under my car today and saw that it came out near my oil gasket. is it really my oil? where is my coolant going?
WTF is an oil gasket? u mean oil filter? oil pan? one of the oil seals? which one, there are a lot. you can usually tell what kinda fluid it is by the texture and smell
the coolant could be slowly dripping out or maybe you need a new thermostat? I could never keep the same amount of coolant in my resoiver for the longest time. I'd fill it up and it would all disappear. Now since I put in a new thermostat I haven't notice any coolant missing...
changing the thermostat can stop the leaking? how? a thermostat only tells the engine how much fuel and coolant etc. can go thru right? how would changing it stop my leaking?
i talked to a kragen guy today and he said my coolant mite be burning. i jsut changed my radiator and flushed the old coolant and added new one in. seems like the leak is coming from my oil pan but i checked my oil stick and it was ok.
does anyone know what it could be?

well first off the guys at kragen are retards, never ask them about car related problems. they are useless. they try to act like they know what they are talkiing about, but they dont.
yyou need to determine what fluid it is before you can diagnos the problem. if you just replaced the radiator there should be some pretty clean fluid in there. so u should be able to tell if the fluid is oil on coolant.
you said its leaking from the oil pan area, near the transmission? if so there is a pretty good chance its the rear main seal. the front seal could be leaking as well.
make sure your drain plug isnt leaking

thanks alot b18b-sc i will check the fluid again tomorrow. im pretty sure its my coolant, because the resevoir keep losing coolant but it seems like the fluid on the ground is oil because it is black. it doesnt look like coolant but ill check again.
oh and again. how come i smell strong octane when im driving. its coming from my car also. could my thermostat be messed up?

could be running rich because of the thermostat. may want to check out all the hoses as well one may have a slight leak. and by the time it hits the ground it runs through all the dirt on the engine, making it appear like oil

1. What colour is the fluid on the floor?
Green=Coolant
Clear = Fuel
Brown= Oil
Redish/Brown, smells = Tranny fluid.
You might be losing coolant as the system is not properly full. Drain it, and refill it making sure you bleed it properly.
The thermostat does not control anything to with fuel.
It sounds just like a simple hose leak. Get a paper towel and wipe undeneath all of the hoses and see what happens.
If its oil, it could be the drain plug washer. They tend to leak if not replaced often.
First of all though, buy a helms manual and learn about your car, or search whenever you have a problem.
Things like this are simple to solve, just be patient.

ok so today i put a peice of paper under my car where the leak was. after an hour i came out to check the color and it seemed green to me with a bit of brown. im thinking its my coolant but its leaking near my oil pan. will changing my thermostat solve this problem?
No, its is proabaly not the thermostat leaking as it is enclosed in a seal. It is most likely one of the hoses around it, or under the intake manifold.
Get some more paper and feel around the ends of all hoses to find which ones are leaking.
