'99 LX 5speed incosistantly wont shift into gear
ive had my 99 accord lx for only 2 days now and i drove it all yesterday and 1/2 way threw today w/ no problems at all. but i was at a stop getting ready to make a left turn and it wouldnt shift into any of the gears, the clutch was to the floor w/ most of my wieght on it (and the rest being on the stick) and i finally i got it to shift, and then after that it shifted w/ ease. then i took it out again later to see if i could maybe see wat was wrong w/ it. i tested the clutch by puting the e brake on, shifting into 1st, and taking off the clutch. it seemed fine. and i drove it around, shifting wheneveri had the chance to see if anything acted up, and it gave me some restance a few times but has been fine since.

could be something with you shift linkage or syncrhos...I had a similar prob with my 01 civic but I ended up getting rid of it. I never found out what the problem was but I did find out that it was a common problem with the 7th gen civics.
So when it was acting up did the clutch pedal feel like it was limp or was it stiff? Either way could lead to a potential problem. But to me it sounds like the clutch is adjusted too tightly causing the clutch not to fully engage and allowing it to heat up and act goofy.
the clutch doesnt feel any different. it just gets really hard to put it itno first, and the other gears are really tricky to get into like theres a really narrow space u can shift to to get it to endgage. and i was driving the other day and it slipped out of gear in first. idk what the hell is up w/ it. its so incositant.
