Default New Titanium Coatings! PICS

Just received my turbo components back from the shop today. Its coated with a titanium coating that can with stand up to 1800 degrees! or so they say...Dont know if many people have experienced with it, but if you do chime in! This stuff better not melt off haha!

Im going to be using the blox manifold, gonna see if i can make 500-600 hp off it. So we'll see how it will perform. Hopefully it will hold!

Pictuers...

BEFORE

AFTER

Here is a picture of the intercooler piping made by Spoolin that will be used with this setup!

Hope to get this going either this weekend or next....ill post results on how the coatings hold up later...

Just curious....how many people actually coat their manifolds and what not and how well did it hold up?? thanks!

Everything looks great. Will see if the coating holds up My coating has been great thus far. My exhaust manifold, turbine housing and wastegate are coated. Downpipe and dump tube are thermal wrapped

It's temperature rating is at 1800 degrees as compared to the flashy shinny ceramic coatings which is only rated around 1200-1300 i beleive and the jet black coating is rated around 1500-1600....

correct...its the ability of the coating to withstand heat and retain heat inside the components best it can without peeling...or flaking off... it does more then show it trys to retain heat! and it keeps ur crap from rusting!

But realistically if ur running 1800 degrees to melt that coating off...your engine is toast!

"Show off coating" - what the hell? Chrome is a show off coating, thermal coating is good stuff.

That thin crap is to keep you from seeing rust.

Get Swain then you'll see a difference.

Good coatings doesnt necessarily have to be "Caked" on there for it to work...reason why its thermal coating. Dont really know how many coats or the process they go thru for doing it, but i know they sand blasted it all down to bare metal, then coat it!

But hey, just as long as it works im happy!

You should vent your engine bay with a marine engine fan get heat out better, I know you just got the coating and all but thats not gonna touch anything swain coated...I'll call that cosmetic because that stuff is thin.

how much is swain to coat a ramhorn though? Looks like it could cost up to 300 bucks just for the manifold, then 150 for a the dp. Thats a tad ridiculous for a coating. Especially for him, where the manifold itself only costs 300. And im sure his coating will reduce heat quite a bit, just may not be as good as swain.

Swain told me $250 for the manifold (lovefab sst). It is put on very thick (for ceramic coatings at least).

Did they do the inside and outside of everything?

Read my link posted above, they tell you what coatings are preferable and at what thickness they are put on

have you tried fitting the center section of the turbo back on the exhaust housing yet??

just curious about how thick that coating it or whatnot??

wondering if it affects the clearance any??
