I believe that I had a bad rod bearing, so I pulled the pan to take a look. This is the only one that looks different than the others and I could only see it in the picture, my LED flashlight wasn't showing crap (it was nighttime when I took this shot)





is it a bad bearing building up friction and the heat changes the color?

 

it doesnt appear burnt, but its really hard to tell from the picture. take the cap off and check to see is the bearing has a brass color showing if so they are bad. also check the journals for scarrings

 

well, I guess I might as well take em off. This ought to be interesting.

what does a burnt bearing look like then?

 

how is any one sapposed to tell if the bearing is bad take the cap and show a picture of the bearing itself not the cap

It would appear that that journal has had some heat put in it. Pull the cap and I bet it wont look good. You can kinda see the crank is turning a purpeish blue color= Not good.. Sorry man. Time to rebuild.
