BLOWN SI and some ZC questions
ok so my buddy up at school just blew the motor up in his hatch (171,000 miles, spun a rod bearing) it's a 93 SI and the body on it is absolutely gorgeous so there is absolutely no way he is selling it because he will never get what its worth. he is in school with me and doesnt have much money, he goes back home every other weekend or so and by his house is an 88-91 style crx that has a ZC dohc swap in it...the kid is selling the crx for $500 because the body is damaged....he needs a car asap and we had a couple collective ideas and i wanted to know if you guys knew if any of them would work.
Idea #1- is there an OBD1-OBD0 conversion harness (yeah this is completely going in the wrong direction but you never know) to put the ZC motor in his hatch until he has enough to get a better engine. if so how hard is the conversion, this would be a temporary conversion until he gets an OBD1 engine to put in it. we would even be willing to temporarily cut, splice, and solder.
Idea #2- will the bottom end internals of the ZC work in the d16z6 block?
Idea #3 can you put the d16z6 head on the ZC bottom end since the ZC is basically just a dohc version of a d-series?
well if you guys know that'd be cool if any of it works im gonna go home with him this weekend and get his car running again.
