help: cheap, easy speed for a '99 2dr accord lx?
i just bought a '99 accord 5-speed and spent most of my bugget on the car, so i was wondering if anyone could give me a few leads as to where i could get relatively cheap/bolt-on hp.

As always take care of the maintnence first.
Be sure the air filters are good, brake and clutch fluid have been changed. Tires are in good shape, no leaks etc etc..
That is the cheapest bolt on you can get, especially if you want the car to last a long time

Not for cheap, that combo would cost at least 650 if you bought crap or on sale parts and net you only a few horsepower.
You have a 5 speed so you're already one up on me. I'd just save more money and turbocharge it and get it done right the first time without wasting money on trying to go NA on it.

It is rated at 150hp and 152 ft/lbs at the flywheel. I think average dyno numbers are around 120-130hp range though, not too sure sure on that one. You already have a great reliable car from the factory, sure it might not be the fastest car out there, but it can withstand a hard rear-ending from a Suburban just fine (from personal experiance)! As far as weight loss goes, look over this, it might help give you a general idea as to what might be done.

best bang for the buck...NITROUS! the F series dont have much bolt-on potential so the only real way to make serious power is going forced induction. you can go N/A but unless your rich and want to prove something then its not worth the money and time.
so in short either get nitrous or save your money for a turbo kit

Very true. With us H and F guys we are at a disadvantage vs. B-series as far as parts availability goes. This being said, supply and demand dictates that we will pay more for I/H/E than B-series guys, not to mention we'll get much less out of it.
What you should consider is the ultimate goal with this car. If you want it to be a daily and don't want to do much to it, then you should maybe consider some small mods. But again, don't expect to make a ton of power and expect to pay more than your buddies with their Civics.

cheap and fast usually dont go well together... save your money, and boost the F23.
They are very torquey boosted and a mild boost around 8 psi with good a good tune should put you over 250hp... I am buying parts slowly but surely for my turbo build and keeping records of where Im getting everything from and a full write up of the install (minus the injectors, walbro, and emanage) and tune.. Good Luck with whatever you do... and dont rice it out please.

I would save up and get some/a nice parts, maybe an intake or even a turbo for later... I always thought its better to wait and get the better stuff than just rush. Weight reduction is good though, my back seats are going soon.

Why get an intake if you're going to get a turbo? Buying an intake and header for a car that's destined for a turbo is like lighting your money on fire.
