Default 100 oct pump gas K24... how much comp?

So i found a place locally that sells 100 octane at the pump...

I'm thinking ahead to my bottom end build and I'm wondering what kind of compression I can run on 100 oct and nothing less.

I'm also thinking about running a little nitrous maybe 100 shot

could I get away with 13:1?

87x99 K24 IPS KME's tuned with AEM EMS

You can do 13:1 on 92. You can push 14.5-15:1 on 100octane.

Are those IPS cams the K2 stroker cams?

ah Jon you know the answer to that question. Its all in the piston/chamber design and the aid of thermal barrier coatings. Although i think i would stick with the 12:5:1+some flat faced valves to get you in the 12:8 range and still have full VTC advancement if you desired

13:1 on 92?

I was told that 12.5:1 would be pushing it on the other crappy 91 cali premium...

maybe I'll settle for 13:1 with the 100oct

The KME's are not the K2-SE stroker cams. The KME's are pretty much a race oriented cam that will benefit from head work, more compression, and a bottom end with some displacement and ability to hold together at more than OEM redline...

The stroker cams are a version of his K2 street cams, that can be used in a stock 2.4L motor, and give better resluts than the original K2's since the new "stroker" version was made with a bigger displacement motor in mind. I think they were made with a stockish redline in mind, but they will perform in a mild/wild build but IPS may have something better for that...

I chose the KME's because the car will be mostly Road Race dedicated and I'll be building a block after I see what the stock block can handle with a mildly built head...

for more info on the K2-SE cams see this thread...
