Recommend a Moderator
An effort to get recommendations for moderator changes did not work out very well because the moderators do not seem to come in here often enough to know whom to recommend.
Although I cannot guarantee that your choices will be picked, it might be helpful to the moderators and the owners to know whom you might recommend if you had a choice.
I've put two names in because I know both of those people are interested in helping.
You can add names of your own, and it's entirely possible that your added names will get more votes than the two people we're aware of.
The poll is open in order to allow you to make selections of your own; however, nonsensical and TOSsable poll choices will be acted upon as offences.
Other stickied threads have been temporarily un-stickied, but they will be re-stickied after this thread is closed.
Thanks very much for your help.

my thoughts are to bring someone from the accord forum, who's been here for a good bit and has continued to help in its progress.
I know if you go through some of the older threads still in effect, you ll see those who've helped out the most with no return gain.
I would like to see some of them granted this honor. not to mention, someone not affliliated with a business is a plus.. we got too many hands in too many places on HT as it is

Now you know I have to come here and do the right thing by making a speech right?

Thank you everyone for coming. It is with great humility that I accept your nomination as a Moderator. I promise that I will appease every single group here on H-T in the Accord forum.
I look forward to continually give out my almost worthless advice regarding cars.
Remember to Vote for me in the November Elections everyone and may God/Allah/Buddah/whom ever you worship bless you.

Is there anyone in here with a great deal of 7th gen knowledge. Many of the people mentioned here are old hands with a lot of knowledge of the older cars, and then again, those are the ones that have more problems, but I'm just putting that out there.

I'm a Honda trained and certified technician. I work at Mechanicsville Honda as a service Technician. ( http://www.mechanicsvillehonda.com ) I have gone to Honda school atleast once a year for the past few years. I have been trained to work on all Honda models and all systems including electrical, advanced diagnostics, IMA (hybrid), NGV (natural gas), and many others. I also have acess to all Honda service materials.
So yes I do
Edit:
And also I am usually able to be here several times during the day so I would be able to be effective as well.

I don't about everyone else but I've spoke with GK about this before a few times. So he did ask me.
Keep in mind, this doesn't mean the person with the most votes will become the moderator. That decision is ultimately up to GK and/or the other moderators.
I would also like to note that I have spoke with GK about a FAQ thread as well. Which is where the new moderator talk sorta started between us. He said it sounded like a good idea but he'd like to see some changes first. In regards to the FAQ thread. My idea is to have a thread dedicated to just FAQ's, link to threads are may be helpful to Accord owners. I would like to see whomever becomes the mod to post up a FAQ as a sticky but keep it locked so all the links can be located in one easy to find location, not like reading through 7 pages to find a link. (this is why I haven't already started a FAQ thread, waiting for a new mod to be named so it can be kept to one post and stickied) Then if someone would like to see a link added, they PM the mod and ask for them to add it to the list. Now I have already started collecting a bunch of links (100+) and have them laid out by different categories. Whomever becomes the mod, I would like to forward all these links and how it's laid out to them so we can get the FAQ thread up asap. So please keep this in mind, whomever becomes the mod, whether it be myself or one of the other helpful members, please let me know so I can send the file to you.
Also, I'd like to say thanks to anyone who votes for me. Even if I don't become a mod, it sure is nice to be named and voted for

First, I do not, I repeat, do not want to be a moderator. I am not a machanic. My knowlege of Accords comes from common sense, what I have learned from P Adams, and Desert Honda, and others, and from working on my own car for 12 years (92).
Most of the candidates are good choices. I would vote for Touring Accord, based on his knowlege, and the fact that I've never seen the least bit of heat (flaming) in any of his posts.

Ahhhh-haha-ha-ha-ha-ha!! About ten years ago I got a letter from the Lord Chancellor that pretty much said, "Inasmuch as you have been nominated, you are therefore appointed...."

Not so much as a by-your-leave.

I think between you and good ol P_Adams I think you two get equal doses of "what the heck did you just say?"

I have voiced my interest/opinion in getting a moderator for this forum 5-6 months ago and every time I suggested some course of action my posts were deleted...frustrating to say the least. Now that something is being "done" I will voice my opinion again.
-I think that the accord moderator should be accessible because honestly our last one wasn't.
-Our moderator should be on the boards a lot more.
-Our moderator should be a member of a substantial period due to the fact of they know how things "work" and understand the forum NTM report with members.
-Should be known for contributing/resolving situations whether through technical help or verbal assistance to calm a situation.
-Shouldn't be a merchant because this can complicate things.
-Should have a plan of action to clean up the forum because it's been swept under the carpet for about 2 years.
Good luck with the selection process and once things are done I plan on visiting the forum more. Even though I do not own an accord any more my love for them still hasn't dissipated

yes, UrbanLegend21 is the current moderator but he's not on much so George Knighton has been answering the reports and general moderating lately.
