I have an H22a in my 97 civic coupe.. The hasport axles I have on the car dont fit in right.. They arent bent parsay, but they are bent back in an angle.. Do any of you have any ideas of new axles so they sit in there straight.. I have been told that there is no axles that will fit.. but will anyone help me with this.. thanks..

Are those axles supposed to fit your h22 in your car?

 

They were the ones that I got with my complete swap.. But they don't seem to fit right. I want to get some that will fit in there straight so I have less of a chance of braking them..

whered u get the swap from?

 

ya i'm a b series guy so idk much about the H's BUT from what i've read you need custom axles for H series swaps into civics.......so if you're using the stock H series axles that could explain your problem.
if that's not it then i'll throw this out here. the mounts that you need to put an H in a civic cause the axles to be a slight angle (maybe this is your problem) and tons of people have problems with them breaking.

i hope this helps but ya so give us some more info on your setup (axles, mounts, etc)

 

Its a 95 H22a, I have hasport mounts and hasport high horsepower axles.. I got the whole setup from Hmotorsonline...

 

They look good to me. Unless your super slammed where your hubs are the same angle as your tranny you wont get a completely straight axle.

 

Raise the car back up, slammed = blocken axles.

 

I think I might have broken one of the axles tonight.. Hitting a curb= the suxors... But on a serious note is there any way of fixing the bent axles..

I think I actully broke the axle.. passenger side... Hitting a curb= the suxor... but on a real note, how do I fix the bent axle problem..

not on purpose... another car and wet surfuce.. hydroplaned into a curb...
the axle didnt feel broke, but the tire is way off alignment..

 

just like luserkid said that axle looks fine.

 

so what your saying is it isnt bent? because when your under the car looking at it, the axle looks bent, from where it is there, then straightens out..

 

they dont sit completely straight.from your picture it looks fines,shaft doesnt look bent

When you lower the car it puts axles at the angle, and also weakens them and makes tham break alot easier. If you want to straighten axle back out raise your car up a little bit.

 

i have a 93 H22a Turbo swapped 93 civic coupe. You need the Hasport mounts and Hasport Axles (my car is dropped 2.2 all the way around w/ Eibach springs. When i bought my complete swap from Hmotors i got the 90-93 teg axles. They worked alright (except around high speed turns/sharp turns they would bind) This year when i had my custom turbo setup installed.. we took 'em out, and when we went to dyno the car they wouldnt go back in.. i dont know if it was the extra weight leaning over the front end or what but i couldnt drive over 10mph without the entire car shaking. The 90-93 teg axles were too long.. and my car was too low. I bought new springs, 1.25drop.. did some weight reduction (system gone, backseat/bealts/panels/moved battery to the trunk.. etc) and ordered Stage 1 Axles from Hasport. With both axles frmo hasport in the car, the problem continued. I got a tip off of a friend to use ONE Hasport axle on the drivers side... and then use an Accord Intermediate Shaft - with one 90-93 teg axles on the drivers side (because the prelude intermediate shaft is male-female it wouldnt work with both teg axles apparently?) So basically.. dont ask how or why, but my car runs perfect with 1 hasport axles on the drivers side, and an accord intermediate shaft with one 90-93 ls teg axle on the passenger side.. good luck

 

If you have a bent axle you would be experiancing a wicked vibration and
probally would have broke by now.

So finally what is the solution for all you h22 powered Civic gurus.
I've been asked this question numerous of times and really don't know the true
answer. I usually tell them to use the hasport mount kit with hasport axles.
I hope I'm not giving bad advise.

 

thats how the axles sit in all h22 civics. they lean back because the motor leans back and throws the axle alignment away from the hub. the passenger axle never seems to hold up. my buddys hasport CV joint fell apart on him after 12 months. my solution? H2B tranny conversion kit. the b-series tranny seems to keep the axles at a straight angle.
