Last night I bottomed out my b16 oil pan on my b16 motor, just wondering if i could use a gsr oil pan with my b16 motor since i have 1 just laying around?

 

Probably not. The GS-R is a 1.8L, while your Civic motor is a 1.6L.

 

I'm thinking they are, cause they are both B motors, you can swap lots of stuff between B motors, I'm pretty sure they are the same I mean you can get a stoker kit for a B16 and make it a B18 from inlinefour.com

 

The 1.8 is a bigger motor and you would think it would require more oil.

 

Naw, I don't think it requires more oil. it's not like it's 1.8L of oil in the engine. I mean you can inter change oil pump, water pump, crank shafts long as you know what your doing with compression and it will clear the head. But it might be diffrent cause the GSR has that Crank Bridge but doubt that will even change the shape of the pan. the block isn't much diffrent form the B16 it's not like it's overall bigger just the way the work with the Rods and Crank to pull more Liters from the engine.

 

I have my b16 oil pan installed on my gsr engine and i have no problems.

 

Anyone else??

 

i believe they are the same except for the gsr has different windage tray and oil pick up than a b16
