ok i hope someone see's this while they are wading thru all the newbie posts but i think i have fuel pump issues. My car takes forever to start and i am pretty sure (99.98%) sure that it isn't my starter. i change my fuel filter just 2 days ago to see if that helped and it didn't. i am thinking about getting injectors today and then after that the only fuel thing left is my fuel pump. so what i'm asking is i have an 88 crx si at my house i'm parting out and i am wondering if that fuel pump will fit into my 91 standard hatch? any help appreciated seeing as how this problem is getting on my nerves

 

yeah it will definitely fit (the fuel pump i mean). i have a 99 ITR fuel pump in my 4G civic. all i had to do was pull the pump off of the bracket and swap the pumps/connect the wires.

do you hear the fuel system charging (fuel pump pressurizing) when the check engine light comes on for 2 seconds before start-up?? i mean if you turn the ign. key to START and watch the CEL come on for 2 seconds... do you hear the fuel pump 'whirring'?

if your engine is cranking, then your starter is working. you might want to check for spark when your car is having trouble starting also. maybe its a distributor problem.... but this sounds more like a fuel system problem to me.

ok i can only hear it doing that a couple of times when i crank it. i usuall turn it to the on position and then try to start it but only click it 2 times and the thing starts up fine

 

yes it will fit...

you can make just about any pump fit if your smart about it.. I used to have a 96 GSR pump in my 89 civic.. now i have a 2001 ITR pump..

check your fuel pressure, you said you changed your fuel filter? can you hear the pump at all when you drive? (ie gutted interrior otherwise you wont hear it) your dizzy could be creating probs. last time you changed cap and rotor? hows coil and ignitor?
