82k mile 01 acura mdx. we are the original owners and i swear i want to torch this car. did the timing belt, plugs, egr tube cleaning and i still have that error code 1399 then 302;300;303;304 follows it. i find that hard to believe that all 4 cylinders are misfiring. i already replaced the battery yesterday and checked the grounds. has anyone else ever had error code 1399 which allegedly means general misfire? i checked the timing and it is dead on. the only thing else i can think off is replacing my coilpacks which i'm doing tomorrow, or ignitor or a crank angle sensor went bad. any help would be appreciated.

sorry can't help you with that one. But I would be willing to bet Acura has a service bulliten for it.

 

i had a 02 Mdx...got a misfire code onetime from bad gas, i just cleared it and it went away...usually when you get one code it trips the center diff light, and the truck runs in a different mode, which could lead to more codes and it driving unusual...good luck with it

 

Usually what happens is one cylinder is misfiring, you'll start with a random misfire which is the code 1399 that you're getting. Then if you monitor the data list the cylinder w/ the true misfire can be recognized. From there it's not uncommon to get a misfire from mulitple cylinders. You need to clear everything and let the engine idle and see which cylinder is detected first, then most likely it's going to be the injector for that cylinder (rarely have I seen a coil pack go bad on an MDX). It's hard to replace just 1 injector though, when removing the fuel rail, even being extremely careful, you're bound to break more than one, be prepared to replace all 3 on the bank that contains your cylinder that's misfiring.
