Default Turbo'd 92 F22 Accord

Hey all, noob on this forum.

I'm looking for a second or hundreth opinion on a turbo selection for my stock block F22 non-Vtec Accord.

I originally was using a DSM manifold with a Big 16G on it, but I want MORE POWER!!! This car is a budget racer, I only piad 250 for the car(needed a tranny). SO, with keeping budget in mind and not going for a Gt30R or similar, what turbo would you suggest for all out drag on a stock block?

I was looking at:
T3/T4E
.63 A/R Stg2 turbine
& 50trim compressor wheel.

T3 Super 60

T3 60-1 Hi-Fi.
Any reason for not going with one of them?

TIA! :D

(If you're looking for a DSM manifold w/turbo cheap for your own project, I still have it in the garage, looking to sell it!)($450 shipped)

Thanks
It only took me about 2 hrs to build it all. It was a bit dissapointing though, only made 1 psi and it wasnt a very strong pull. BUT, I still made it and it worked.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I built it all myself.

Here's one of my other cars I built:

Here's a gauge pod I made for my matrix, it has a E-01 glassed into the pillar

The Engine Bay:

This car is currently all ripped apart, I'm pulling the motor and trans to go for 400whp with an auto still. I was able to run a 14.6@94 with the stock auto box. Not too shabby for a 17second car from the factory.

Check out my site for vids and pics of other cars I own/work on:

I bought that one off of 4cycle.com

Theres a lot of kart racing shops around that can sell you a complete roller for 500-infinity

I looked at the turbo you mentioned, HUGE! I think thats a bit oversized for a stock block F22, or no?

A SC61 is not huge by any means you might want to look into a Turbonetics\Garret hybrid t3/40e 57 trim turbo (48/50 ar) my buddie is using it in his F22b1 and he put down 270 whp and 280 tq @ 10psi

I was looking at something very similar to the hybrid you're talking about. Do you think a .63 A/R would be too big, take a LONG LONG time to spool? I want boost by 3500 with a lot of top end power. My matrix has a small turbo, great for spool, horrible for top end.

t3/to4e 57 trim.

or

the t3 super 60.

both theses turbo will work pretty effeciently on an f22, ive done the math and looked at the compressor maps.

im the guy cd5 jeebies was talkin about with the t 3/4 on the accord. Its a t3/04e 48/60 with stage 3 57 trim wheel.

The 63 hot side is cool but WILL spool later. Ive got full boost by 33-3500, and it pulls like a train til redline. With all the new upgrades, im sure it will be even more brutal. Its GREAT on the street. i thought about running the 63 hot side, but decided against it, besides the stage 3 wheel in a 57 trim spools PERFECTLY in my EXPERIENCE...ask fatty.... he was grabbingfor **** to hold onto when i took him for a ride in it the first time. LOL

Stock block at 10 psi on a conservative tune got me 260 whp/270 tq. Car has run 13.89 w/ shitty 60 foots (2.3s), subs, PS, A/C, im fat, full interior on 17s.

Motor had 140000 on it when i boosted it. Ive BEATEN it for 6-7 months and around 20000 miles. I got a coolant pushing sit. goin, so i pulled the head, and the motor (sleeves-valves-pistons) still look really good. Tossing in some ARP head studs, new HG, got my exhaust mani ceramic coated, designed and built a new downpipe (coated and wrapped). 3 bar MAP, and a new tranny (H-23 for the shorter 2nd -5th gears). Not to mention the DELTA cam (hopefully it will be done thursday). Retuning for 13-14 psi, looking for 300+ whp on conservative tune

new pipes

ARP Madness....

More updates later...

Nice setup

Theres a guy on Hondaswap.com thats selling the same turbo you're using. He said he would hold it until I got paid, but I like the 60-1 Hi-Fi too. Its a bit bigger though and I'm sure the spool will suffer. Both are the same price, which would you go for?

What size injectors did you run for the 270whp #'s?

ididALOT of research before buying a turbo, Id do this one again. The sc61 isnt whatn id reccomend, notif youre looking forthe quick spool AND top end, like accdordinlydone said, i researchedcompressor maps before making my decision too... My resulys are proof.. Right now im using 2nd gen dsm blactop 450s, they have a dual pintle design for better fuel atomization than the blue tops. Imgonna be selling them and going to rc 750s, or precision 780 when i go for 400-450 whp, but the 450s are fine even on a stock pump for around 300 whp.
