just bought 98 itr recently.my idle is set to 1,200 rpm. i don't know if it's my battery or need of tunning. my car has aem adj. camgears and skunk 2 stage 3 camshaft. hondata s100. my idle some how drops back and forth between 500 to 1,200 range. when it reach the 400-600 rpm the batter sign on the cluther flashes. sometimes it stays at the 1000 -1200 range for half second or min. then then repeats drop. i don't think it's my battery but it could be? i also think it could be my alternator. when stepping on gas. light on cluster. headlights with brigthen up.
you just bought the car with it running like this???
sounds like more of a "tuning" issue than anything else. Assuming the idle is setup correctly in Hondata, check your pcv hose on the intake manifold for holes, check the voltage at the battery, may just need to adjust the throttle body. Im willing to bet the battery light is only coming on because the car is about to die when idle gets that low.
But if those are stage 3 cams, I would bet on just a tuning issue and suggest having a Hondata tuner check it out.
