Default Serious question

I just got done doing a swap on a 90 accord. Swapped the f22a for the f22b. The car run perfect up until 4800 rpm's at which point it act as though this is the rev limiter. I have done several swaps on many different hondas and at this point I am stuck. Need the help of the guru's. Anyone got any ideas why this is happening?

I have tried the stock ecu, a p13, and a p28. Same problem with all of them. The p28 gets close to 6k before it starts breaking up. I notices that the speedo wasnt working and the sensor is plugged in. I am going to replace that today. Also I already tried a couple different dizzy's. Any help would be great.

So the ecu is in limp mode? Why and how do I fix it. I have been researching on my own and I read that the accord will break up in the rpm band if the oil pressure is low? Any ideas? Anyone? I am going to check the oil pressure. Check back here in a little while.

That is the thing. I am not throwing any codes. As far as the wiring goes. The only wiring that needs to be done is the the vtec wiring. Everything else is the same. Just extending some of the wires. Also all wires are soldered and heat shrinked. All the wiring checked for continuity. I think it has to do with the oil pressure. Has anyone else had this problem. THe car runs perfect up until about 4500-4800 it starts breaking up. It wont rev higher than that no matter what ecu or dizzy I put in.

What needs to be done with the VTEC wiring? If your VTEC solenoid or VTEC oil pressure switch aren't hooked up, it SHOULD be throwing CELs for them. Does your CEL come on (lamp check) when you first turn it on?

Bingo! check your spped sensor..unplug it fro mthe tranny clean it with some break cleaner..scrape it(connectors) with a wire brush..VOILA should work..a F22a to F22b should not be hard at all....only other wires are ground, oil pressure, voltage..correct me if I'm mistaken??

Correct.

I know I had this same problem with my H22 Accord. Woudln't rev past around 5000. Couldn't figure out for the life of me what it was. Tried multiple P13, some chipped ECUs, nothing worked. I decided to say expletive it and I replaced my coolant temp sensor, oil pressure sensor and TPS sensor. It worked and has been running great ever since.

I meant the only wiring that needed to be done w/the swap was the vtec. and no I an not throwing anycodes at all. I am in the process of replacing all the sensors and I got a new speed sensor on the way. Will let you know. Thanks
