Whats up folks,

Ok, so my EJ1 has been pulled out of a pond, everything is working decent and it's back on the road. I just spent the weekend pulling out the interior and will be replacing it with used seats and a carpet.

Problem is... the firewall carpet was like a freakin sponge and i had to rip out the lower portion of it. So now there is like no sound barrier and MAN this little D series engine is pretty freakin loud!

Anyone have any suggestions on sound deadening materials to replace the firewall insulation? Dynamat? Some kind of spray-in stuff?

Keep in mind I don't want to make the car a silent runner here, just looking for a suitable replacement to kill some of the engine/road noise.

 

i would say dynamat. or just turn up the radio, and think of the weight savings..
