From 2000 to 02, there's only a few minor changes visually, plus they fixed some minor "bugs" common to most first generation cars.

Canadian models are only different in color choices.

whatever you do, i wouldn't buy a 2001-2002. those are the first few years they were produced. i know a buddy of mine that has a 2001, and it looks like a piece of **** now. but like you said-- at LEAST an 02 cause the rear window is glass. if you can find a cheap 2004 and up, you get a F22 not an F20 but no 9k redline.. just thought you'd like to know!

-the first year is 2000

-how do you define "looks like a piece of ****"? does your buddy abuse them? because car just don't turn into a flaming pile by itself. did you try to sit in the car instead of sitting under the car?

-there's 1643184618 beautiful ap1 in s2ki.com

however the suspension and sway bar has been soften progressively by the years, the 2000 has the rawest suspenision with the thickest sway bar.

all the outside stuff aside, the ap2 has a different motor and trans, the shiftfork problem is fixed, clutch delay valve are added to protect the rear diff from bombing itself when you drop the clutch at 6k

i said the first FEW years. its so funny how quick some of you are to jump all over other people because they say something you dont like. it looks like a piece as in -- the paint is shot to hell, his seats are all worn out and craked, and his top has a whole in it.

but i will say, these cars do hold their value EXTREMELY well. cant find many older ones even for under $18,000.00

same thing for the ap2, someone on s2ki peeled a sheet of paint off the rear bumper from waxing.

seats are known for being an ****, the leather is not the highest quality, again, same goes for ap2(don't know the 06 tho)

i brought mine for 15 out of door with warranty, clean title with many free oem and aftermarket upgrades.

This is a silly and generic view of cars...many MANY first year cars have been just fine, having no major issues and sharing whatever common issues found with them with all years following them in the same generation.

Major issues is the key word hypnosis. The 2000-01 models had no major issues, but still required 2 TSBs, IIRC. Also, whether the issue is major or minor is all subjective.

But to view all "first year" cars as "bad" is silly, that was my point...it just happens to be that the S2000 was most problematic in its first year, but alot of cars dont share that characteristic, and actually provide MORE issue as the gen goes on from added options and other things.

As far as Hondas goes, there hasn't been very many new models lately, aside from the hybrid add-ons. I know on the S they did use parts from other cars (Accord A/C condensers for example). If you looked back to the first S's (360, 500,600,800) the main downfall was the chain drive wearing out quickly. Honda does what they can, but the important thing is that they updated the flaws within less than 2 years, almost immediately. I can appreciate that.

Your point is yet again very valid. I have nothing to go against that.

First few years? First year was 2000, what the hell are you trying to say?

Paint is shot = preventable
Seats worn out = preventable
Top has a whole in it = What the expletive is a whole?

why are you turning this into a sexist thing? it has nothing to do with her being a girl. Her points are being argued, its a legitimate debate. Just because she is a girl does not give her special privileges. if you can dish it out then you can take it.

I agree. A very simple question with a simple answer that got blown out of proportion because someone challenged someone else's OPINION. Well, I just bought an '02 about a month ago, and I love it! Good luck with your purchase.

If the price is right, carfax is clean, and it looks and runs right, go for it. There are no fatal flaws in the AP1's
