Default h22 guys with water temp gauges

what doesn your h22 run at . i just got my mechanical water temp (never again will i buy mechanical water temp lol )hooked up today and as expected it sat at 185f(assuming thats the Tstat thats in there )

seem to stay there most of the time but for a bit it got up to 200-210 (the factory gauge didnt move)

could have been some air bubbles in the system but i was just curious

thanks

Factory gauges are meant to sit still between operating temps and only move once temps start climbing past normal. 205~210 sounds like WOT temps (aka normal). How old/condition is your radiator? My precise BMW temp gauge moved around a lot between a 1/8" gap.

if you have the water temp sensor in the water stream as it returns from the radiator it should bet at 180 for operating range, if you have it in the water neck as it comes from the head, then 190-210 is completely normal. i have been at 210 in summer traffic for an hour and the raditor ran just kicks on and off, and the stock gauge never moves.. ithink when you get above 212 boiling point of water , the stock temp guage goes up a tick.

mine sits at 180 for daily driving, if i get on it, then it moves up around 200ish

ya it freaked me out when i first had it

and a tip of installing a ele. temp sensor on a h22.

get a f22 water outlet, and goto the parts store and get a brass fitting that can go in where there is some sensor, and that the gauge sensor will fit into, usually comes with the gauge tho, use some liquid gasket, and viola

Driving I am usually at around 190 or so. If I am in traffic or something it will go up to 205-210. For a while my fans were not working (bad fan control module) and i would hit 220. No problems even at that temp. No worries.....hondas tend to run hot.

Via hondata/aem ems on the H22's that I have done 180-190 is normal for driving around. 195-205 is normal for short stops and 205-212 is normal for long stops. If it gets over 212 that is when you run into overheating issues.
