Slightly OT: racetrack in CTS commercial
Has anyone seen the CTS commercial? I could swear that the racetrack they used is thunderhill. I think I see Turn 5 with the bypass.
If it's true, I wonder if people can complain if their CTS don't hold up at thunderhill.
Here's the video:

I test drove a CTS on some back roads around here a few weeks ago and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The controls are not that intuitive but it was a comfortable car. I drove the automatic since they didn't have any manuals and it was a bit...odd. It is the most aggressive automatic I've ever driven, it just stays in the power band when you put your foot on the floor, very nice.
Unfortunately the suspension (the sport suspension) was noticeably underdamped. Yes it was smooth and comfortable but a serious touring sedan should not be floating back and forth when you go over bumps. It held turns well enough but I don't think they have the 3 series killer they say they have. Maybe if it was a critically damped and a little bit stiffer.

Yes its thunderhill. (as was pointed out to me by someone else) its a bit interesting that the slogan is "never yield to convention", yet the caddy is going the RIGHT direction, but the black cars are actually the ones going reverse....Miata commercial is also filmed there from what I hear. I think ive seen a cadillac or buick or some large pontoon run a HPDE event at Sears, quite a lesson in bodyroll.

I watched an old Jag 4dr at Thunderhill...mas I thought that that the car was going to roll over with how it looked...I was just glad that I wasn't in his run group.
Body Roll = Al Hastings' Caprice on-track
